What information we collect
When you request a quote on this website
Your name, phone number and postcode, plus anything else you choose to add: your email address, street address and town, the services you are interested in, your message and a photo of the area to be cleaned.
When you call, email or message us
Whatever you tell us, such as your contact details, address and what you need doing. Messages sent through Facebook are also handled under Facebook’s own privacy policy.
When you book work with us
Details of the job, the address where it was done, and records of quotes, invoices and payments.
When you visit this website
Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages see technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. We also use privacy-friendly visitor statistics (see Cookies and visitor statistics) that do not identify you.
How we use your information
| What we do | Why we are allowed to |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and give you a quote | You asked us to, before entering into a contract with us |
| Arrange, carry out and invoice the work | To perform our contract with you |
| Keep business, tax and accounting records | We are legally required to |
| Run, protect and improve this website | Our legitimate interest in having a working, secure website |
We do not send marketing emails or texts, we never sell your information, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the services that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website, delivers the quote form to Paul’s inbox (keeping a backup copy for 90 days in case an email goes astray) and provides our visitor statistics.
- Yahoo, Paul’s email provider.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts on this website. Your browser connects to Google to download them, so Google sees your IP address.
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, so your information may be processed abroad. Where that happens, we rely on the protections those providers put in place under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that don’t lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months.
- Customer and job records: kept for as long as HMRC requires, currently at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year, then deleted.
- Photos you send us: deleted once they are no longer needed for your quote or job.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask us to send your information to you or another organisation in a usable format
To use any of these rights, email or call Paul using the details above. It is free, and we will reply within one month.
Cookies and visitor statistics
This website does not use cookies. Our visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts things like page views, the website that sent you here and your type of device, without cookies and without tracking you across other websites. It does not tell us who you are.
Links to Google, Checkatrade and Facebook take you to their websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top of this page.
